De-focus

De-focus is a body of paper-making works that explores the relationship between object and space within time. Using abstract shapes as a metaphor for out-of-focused memories, the series was built upon the artist’s childhood memory of the decorative objects in her grandma’s house. Combining the gesture of painting and photography commonly practiced in Wang’s other works, the artist dyes pulps and manipulates them to create a surreal and dreamy effect.
